Detailed Description

Algorithm that performs scan-conversion ultrafast ultrasound images, using its FrameGeometry to fully determine the result.

It differs from USExp::ScanConversion2 in that it supports the scan-conversion of ultrafast imaging data that has not been coherently compounded, i.e. a single frame containing the images of different plane wave / diverging wave emissions and is represented by a 3D SharedImage. It also supports the scan-conversion of coherently compounded data, as pre-scanconverted 2D SharedImage. Supports multiple images and ImageStreams.

The input is expected to contain the following metadata:

  • UltrasoundMetadata: the metadata of the ultrasound sweep. m_scanConverted determines if the forward or inverse scan-conversion is performed.
  • FrameGeometry: The geometry of the ultrasound sweep. If the forward scan-conversion is to be performed, the geometry may have a valid scanconverted image descriptor to determine the spacing, otherwise it is estimated from the axial spacing of the prescan data. If the inverse scan-conversion is to be performed, the geometry must have a valid prescan image descriptor.

inverse scan-conversion is not implemented yet
