DICOM Editor

Provides a dialog to anonymize DICOM files.

Description

First select a folder containing DICOM files that should be anonymized and click Scan. Next, select a folder where the anonymized DICOM files should be saved to. We do not recommend to select the input folder here, since this will overwrite the original files! In the tree, the series that should be anonymized can be selected now and the anonymisation started by clicking on Anonymize.

By default the tool follows the recommendations of the DICOM Standard for anonymisation and deletes private tags, because they cannot be anonymized reliable. Use the Keep private tags option to ignore private tags. Be aware that private tags might leak private information about the patient!

Custom anonymisation profiles can be configured using the Edit Configuration (gear) button in the lower right. Further information about the set profile and the meaning of the de-identification action codes can be obtained via tooltips on mouse hover. Note that any profile other than “Basic Profile” might leak private information about the patient!
